Description:
For Wendy Welcott, a bright and fiercely independent young lady with autism, the world is a bewildering place. Wendy longs to move back in with her sister's family and their new baby girl, away from her group home. She is certain that she only needs to persuade her family of her newfound ability and skills in order to be reunited with them. When Wendy learns about a Star Trek writing contest, she jumps at the chance to submit her 500-page script and demonstrate her worth because she loves everything about Star Trek and writes in her spare time. Her only issue, though, is that she will miss the deadline if she doesn't deliver her 500-page script to Paramount Pictures in person.
Storyline:
In an effort to submit her 500-page novel to a Paramount Pictures "Star Trek" writing competition, a young autistic woman flees from her caregiver.
